Billed as possibly the largest Brazilian Carnaval party in the United States, some 5,000+ partyers in costume dance the night away at the Palmer Events Center in Austin every February. Acadêmicos da Ópera was honored to perform at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC), which was held on the 10th of November 2006 at the Austin Convention Center. The self-proclaimed "Live Music Capital of the World" played host to more than 6,000 drummers and percussionists from around the world for four days of education, inspiration and celebration.
